With my recent obsession over Native American inspired prints and tribals, it almost hurts that I can’t have this platform. Even despite the fact there will always be a looming fear that I won’t be able to walk properly in these 4.5” heels. Something about the matte red and black diamond shapes with a surprise cut-out draws me in. Not only does Gwen create a show-stopping silhouette and print, she adds the woven platform! Ah, genius in my book.

Is it horrible to fall in love with a boot you already own in 4 different variations? I’d like to think that I know what works and if it’s not broken…don’t fix it. The BCBGeneration ‘Petler’ Boot is made of gorgeous suede in a chic and seamless design. The slighted pointed toe elongates the leg, while the small wooden wedge adds a bit of height, which for me is a must. I received these in the mail via free 2 day shipping thanks to ENDLESS. If you’re anything like me then platform pumps make you kind of nervous. Something about them seems ‘hoe-y’ (as my mom would say). Especially the ever popular peep-toe, patent leather platform sling-back. But I’ve come to the conclusion that mini skirt wearing, tube top sporting, over tanned girls give them a bad rep. These Enzo Angliolini platforms are just as ready for a perfectly tailored business suit as they are for a flirty skirt and leather jacket. My sister is getting married and it has now given me another excuse to hunt for shoes (like I needed one). Searching for the perfect bridesmaid dresses is already a headache, but then you have to think about jewelry and shoes too! Thankfully I love doing both. However, shoes is obviously the most enjoyable. The RSVP ‘Maison’ Peep toe is super flattering and just just enough design to set it apart without overwhelming anything. I like how it’s not the typical strappy special occasion shoe that you will most likely never wear again. The platform adds a chic edge and makes your legs look amazing (always important). Seriously, who can resist these insanely adorable oxfords? Just think… full floral mini dress, slouchy beanie, leather messenger bag and these shoes. Perfect. Can you see it? If not, you should google image it. This menswear inspired trend has taken over my style and has no intention of letting go. But what’s so great is that designers have found a way to give it a feminine and girly twist, so it doesn’t overwhelm with masculinity. I wouldn’t call Steve Madden the forefront of design, however with the ‘Tirah’ oxford he sort of nailed it on the head. Also, considering spring did you know they also come in a light lavender color!!

Since I can no longer look forward to spring break (apparently jobs don’t recognize this as a major holiday) I set my attentions to updating my wardrobe, specifically my shoes. Seychelles wedges are perfect to bring in the new season. With the ever present vintage vibe, they effortlessly combine old with a new twist. The ‘Kick Up Your Heels’ wedge has a simplistic design playing with textures and lines. It doesn’t try too hard at being sexy or chic (but clearly is). I say, it’s about time to look to the future and break out those flowy sundresses and light weight cardigans. If not to embrace spring early, then to have an excuse to wear these adorable wedges!
