Sperry Top-Sider ‘Wool Pelican’ Rain Boot

Plaid and Flannel is again on the rise and this time it isn’t Seattle based or a grunge rock band.  Celebrities and hipster kids have pretty much claimed flannel shirts but shoes are still free game.  Snow and rainy season are upon us, which means it is time to update our shoe wardrobe.  I am really digging this wool pelican boot, the colors make it fun and different while remaining stylish.  These boots are so cute that you will be hoping for rain.

Jessica Simpson ‘Bowen’ Flat

Due to my recent celebrity encounter I have decided to post a Jessica Simpson shoe.  I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of hers, musically or as a designer, however this one sparked my interest enough for me to see what her shoe line was up to.  The ‘Bowen’ flat has a great burgundy color to it, a nice change from the plum purple.  I also dig the flat over sized bow in the front, I think it gives the flat a modern edge and sets it apart. The only thing I have not latched onto is the square toe trend…just not my thing.

For the record I touched her shoulder and her body guard looked like he was about to attack me. It was thrilling.

Gabriella Rocha ‘Cutie Pie’ Boot

No, your eyes are not deceiving you.. this looks almost identical to the UGG ‘Cardy’ Boot.  I’m always unsure what to think of copy cats in the design world.  They all feed off each other and are always trying to find ways to out do one another.  However, has Gabriella Rocha done exactly that, out do UGG?  Although from the outside the ‘Cutie Pie’ Boot seems like a twin to the ‘Cardy’, it is not.  When folded down it has a sheepskin liner.  I have concluded it’s all in what you like, I will say, however that this comes at a cheaper price.

Dolce Vita ‘Jake’ Boot

Every time I come across a great boot I have to post it.  Dolce Vita seems to be striking my fancy lately because I’m finding fantastic shoes that are modern and simple.  I’m really digging the color of this boot, it’s gray with a splash of taupe…gaupe if you will? Ok, so that word doesn’t look or sound appealing but you know what I mean (I hope).

Dolce Vita ‘Madison’ Pump

For the first time ever (and maybe the only time) I will admit I am a bit tired of black pumps.  But before you start a riot over this bold statement, let’s think about it for sec… aren’t there other equally great colors that go with almost anything as well?  Yes, yes there is!  The Dolce Vita ‘Madison’ pump comes in this beautiful brick red with subtle layering.  I absolutely love this darker shade of red, it definitely makes it more wearable, while adding that splash of color.  Instead of reaching for your black pumps opt for this great red pump (you won’t regret it).

BAGILICIOUS

I have a confession.  Not only do I obsess over shoes but I also have a special place in my heart for handbags.  There is something about having the right clutch, bag or tote that can transform your outfit (of course with the help of a great pair of shoes).

If you are like me and can’t get enough of handbags you should definitely check out Bagilicious.com.  The writer of this blog has a very wide range of taste, which means you will definitely find something to pine over and probably be introduced to some new styles you would have never thought of.

She recently did a post on a bag that I own (and plan to buy in other colors) and I’m so glad she did, because on the west coast it has been under the radar and desperately needs to be exposed more!

Dr. Martens ‘1460 W-8 Eye’ Boot

Teen spirit anyone?  Yes, there was a time when jelly shoes, oversized overalls, and ripped jeans were in style.  But like a good fad, they came and went.  The 90’s was a time where grunge was a lifestyle as well as a fashion trend, thus Dr. Martens finding its place in fashion history.  I commend their effort in trying to update their look with different textures and patent leather, however that is where I must stop.  Back when they were popular they fit the style of t-shirts, flannel button ups, and intentionally (but effortlessly) ripped jeans.   But we are now in the age of skinny denim, high waisted skirts, and high collared pea coats, where I am sad to say (although not too sad) the ‘1460 W-8 Eye’ Boot should be no where to be found
