L.A.M.B ‘Vail’ Platform

LAMB-Vail-Platform

With my recent obsession over Native American inspired prints and tribals, it almost hurts that I can’t have this platform. Even despite the fact there will always be a looming fear that I won’t be able to walk properly in these 4.5” heels. Something about the matte red and black diamond shapes with a surprise cut-out draws me in. Not only does Gwen create a show-stopping silhouette and print, she adds the woven platform! Ah, genius in my book.

L.A.M.B ‘Tammy’ Pump

Zippers are becoming the new buckle.  Like the buckle they don’t really have a function, they are mainly a ‘sit there and look pretty’ detail… but quite honestly I’m not complaining.  I also love how gold is making a comeback!  The boldness and richness of the gold against the black leather on this pump only adds to the appeal.  To set this shoe apart from the rest Gwen Stefani has decorated the whole front of the shoe with weaving straps and it works.

It’s always a bit worrisome that certain shoes with a narrow tall heel and a platform could look a bit… well skanky.  But there is a solution to this problem and a lot of it has to do with the material.  Gwen has paired this high heeled peep toe pump with a mixture of suede and a wooden heel.  Suede is a softer look than leather or the ever popular patent leather.  The pattern on the suede adds a feeling of fluidity and interest to the pump.  I would definitely recommend this color, it’s a bit off beat and perfect for this season.

LAMB ‘Fen’ Pump

To be quite honest…I’m not sure what to think about square toes.  They have been appearing in shoes for a little while now, but something is not agreeing with me.  Square toes aside I’m really digging this pump.  Buttons are my all time favorite shoe detail and this satisfies my button fetish perfectly.  I love the little flaps on the side done in a dark brown and patent black, it’s little details like that, that are going to be attention grabbers.  Even though I’m still not down with the square these pumps are starting to make them grow on me (just a little bit).

L.A.M.B ‘Sunny’ Sandal

L.A.M.B-Sunny-Sandal

Gwen has spun the gladiator sandal in her favor. She definitely killed the rumor that black and brown do not go together with the ‘Sunny’ sandal. I love the thin brown straps gathering towards the center and interwoven with the black leather. Take a closer look you and you will be able to see the real difference between Gwen’s gladiator and the other competitors. The ankle strap is done in snake skin, giving this sandal an edge. And I must say…it works.

Guest Wedding Shoes Part VI: L.A.M.B. ‘Giulianna’ Peep Toe Slingback

lamb-giulianna

Oh my Ms Gwen Stefani, though I liked you much better during your No Doubt days, I still love you because dang! you’ve got amazing style. This ‘Giulianna’ peep toe sling back is definitely proof of the bring chunky back for summer style that I had mentioned earlier with the ‘

Bombay’ Sandal. And that brings me to another one of my chunky shoe rules, if you’re going to wear a shoe like this with a thick heel, platform and more substantial foot covering in the summer – again try to keep things simple and look for an open toe and an open heel (i.e. like this slingback). If you had a closed toe and heel it you will run the risk of looking too covered up (yes, that can happen, even on your feet) for what is supposed to be a light-hearted affair and season. The Giulianna definitely keeps things fresh because it’s open at the front and heel and has great weaving at the front. This color also totally makes me think of warmer weather. However, beware, you better have a killer outfit in bright colors to pull off this shoe! (or just get the black ;o) )

LAMB ‘Diamond’ Flat

Gwen Stefani has become a style icon and this shoe is a prime example why. The stitching between materials makes this flat different and funky but by adding the neutral colors it makes this flat very wearable. Pair these shoes with a drab work outfit to spice it up a little or some skinny jeans for those more casual days.
