Nike has also provided us with comfortable shoes that can be worn casually.  I have been a fan of the Nike Shox for a while, but only in their athletic shoes, so when I came across the ‘Calistra’ I was pretty pumped.   I love this design, it’s clean, simple, and functional.  It comes in 3 different colors but in my opinion white looked the best, all the way to the turquoise inside.  If you’re athletic but your into fashion as well, you need these shoes, these could be the flats that you wear to your sports event and then change into to your appropriate shoes.  Or, if your the type that likes athletic gear but not really into playing a sport, consider these shoes your link into that world.

Since gas prices have hit us all pretty hard my guess is a lot of you have taken up walking, like I have. A little extra walking never hurt anyone, however bad shoes have.  That’s why it is super important to have shoes that you can walk all day in without limping by the end of the day.  I had the opportunity to try out the ASGI ‘Joy’ and I must say it was surprisingly comfy from the get go.  After walking in them for a while I was pleasantly surprised to find that my feet were doing great, probably thanks to their advanced technology in what they call ’soleplex’.  This soleplex was designed specifically for the comfort of your foot. The only thing that I would change on this shoe is the silver lining, which can detract from how wonderful this shoe can be.

Summer is the season of special occasions, which means you will have to have a shoe that can be worn to more than one event and make you look fabulous. I love the classic peep toe, sling back pump, but this one has a twist.  The knot in the front will add to any dress that needs a little pop!

Don’t worry ladies, you are still in the ’safe to buy as many sandals as you want’ zone. The end of June means you still have the rest of July, August, and September to show off your cute pedicures and sun kissed skin. You have two major trends going on with sandals this season, the gladiator and the simple sandal. The ‘Synapse’ has taken the simple approach without making it too basic. I love the braided strap in the front, it makes the shoe look more trendy and even dresses it up a bit. These would look wonderful with a flowy dress and big braided belt. Remember, the ’safe zone’ doesn’t go on forever so…get to it!

If the boat shoe is a little too hardcore for you, try Sperry’s ‘Largo Ballet’ flat.   It’s a little reminiscent  of a boat shoe with the leather tie, but then it also has espadrille type of sole.  The bottom of the flat definitely makes it more feminine and would go great with all types of outfits.  It’s nearly impossible to not look cute in this flat, it will take you from your morning boat ride to your after noon shopping spree.

My new favorite shoe style is the boat shoe.  I think they look ultra cool and hip.  OK, so hip may not be the first word that pops into your head when you think of Sperry boat shoe, but give it a chance!  I’m really digging the pastel plaid with the off white leather, it makes it more stylish and gives it character. I would definitely experiment with different outfits with this shoe, but if you want a head start I recommend a light pleated skirt with a cute tucked in plain V neck t-shirt.  No worries if you don’t own a boat and a pair of white capris I officially give you permission to take these shoes mainstream.
