Bridal Kid’s Shoes - See Kai Run; Meet Radik, Indria and ‘Kathryn’

For the sake of completeness and because these baby/toddler shoes are so incredibly cute, I had to include a post (albeit a bit longer than my others) for our little man the ring bearer and flower girl(s).
You may not have heard of ‘See Kai Run’, and that wouldn’t be a surprise. See Kai Run hasn’t been around that long (est. 2004), but they have definitely made their mark in the baby/toddler shoe world for comfort and urban style.

Ring Bearer

‘Radik’ in this slightly shiny black leather is the perfect for the little man. It will go great with his mini-tux, and the star shaped cut-outs on each side keeps the shoe youthful and will make him look like the rock star he is.

Flower Girl

Indria

Kathryn

For the little princess, the “Indria” in the soft white with silver star cut-outs will help her make a ridiculously cute entrance as she flounces down the aisle to introduce all ya’ll brides. Plus, the opening at the front of the shoes gives the little girl a chance to feel glamorous and “grown-up” by painting her tiny tot toes. If you’d like something a bit more traditional but still equally cute with great details also check out the Kathryn (being sold exclusively at Zappos)

All shoes are made of soft flexible materials and are padded to keep these kids walking or running comfortably for what will most likely be a very long day for them. The soles are made of flexible rubber with traction to help keep them on course down the aisle, and while they make mayhem at all other times. The velcro top straps also help do their job to make sure the shoes don’t fall off. Seen in magazines and gracing the feet of Brangelina’s little Zahara and TomKat’s Suri, you know you’ll be making a smart choice to choose to have the little tikes wear these shoes

Mother of the Bride Shoes Part IV - Cole Haan ‘Wanda Air’ Sling

colehaan-wanda1.jpg

Here’s a shoe that will add a fresh breezy feel to a hot summer wedding. You mothers will look trendy and fabulous in this Cole Haan ‘Wanda Air’ sling. This shoe will go perfect if you are wearing lighter knit weight fabric (and colors) such as a lavendar linen, or a brightly colored cotton/silk pleated or sheath dress. And like the ‘Desire’ thong from a few days ago, it will look great with any body type because of its structure. It has a stacked heel for extra support and Nike Air (a Cole Haan to-die-for signature feature) for comfort. The contrasting tan colored heel and piping along the straps updates the pump to give you that “straight out of the Hamptons” timeless look. And with that so long and farewell Mama as we move on to the next part of the Bridal Party

Mother of the Bride Shoes Part III - Nine West ‘Jojus’ Pump

ninewest-jojus

Sara was feeling a bit too inactive so she wanted to say “Hello” with her Coloriffics sandal. And so, I’m also saying..”hello again” with this Nine West ‘Jojus’ pump. Yes, the ‘Jojus’ pump, definitely seems a bit wild and crazy for a Mother – especially when I mentioned in my earlier post that I wanted to keep things age-appropriate. But Mothers, trust me on this and don’t write-off these shoes quite yet. This shoe is for the super trendy fashionista in all of you willing to wear a 3” heel. The tan and blue in the Jojus tone the shoe down (hence age-appropriate), while the other colors keep things lively and make it so that it will match with any color outfit. In all honesty, I’m not normally the biggest fan of army fatigue type prints. However, it works for this shoe to integrate all the colors together, because you don’t really notice it unless you’re holding the shoe up close to you face or critiquing it like I did. I also really like the soft fabric of the shoe’s interlocking open strap at the top. It nicely complements the party of colors and adds to the comfort of the shoe. The Jojus won’t work with the very formal wedding outfits, but it will definitely complete an outfit for a more casual wedding. Try it out, I dare ya.

Coloriffics ‘Desire’ Pump

Coloriffic’s ‘Desire’ pump is going to be great for all those summer weddings and special occasions! I love the classic shape and style of the pump, but by adding the little detail of the stones in the middle of the cross strap allows them to stand out more. And since there is no ankle strap..it’s wearable for all of us out there! Also if your in the market for dress shoes with a little more sparkle…be sure to check out their other designs.

Mother of the Bride Shoes Part II - Naturalizer ‘Prissy’ Sandal

naturalizer-prissy

Naturalizers are know for being comfy shoes, so the ‘Prissy’ is a safe bet if you want elegance in a shoe that will let you Mothers stay standing the entire day (I have yet to see a Mother sitting back and relaxing during much her child’s wedding). I can guarantee my mom will be running around from this place to that when my brother gets married this September. The soft upper materials and flexible sling-back strap will provide give since feet tend to swell a bit in warm weather and as the day wears on. An added bonus, you have a heel to add class, but it’s barely higher than a kitten heel so you can still have maximum comfort. =) Also, as seen here in, the Cosmic Metallic Dust color makes the shoe more ‘fancy’ and will go great with more formal wedding wear.

Mother of the Bride Shoes Part I - Alfani “Desire” Thong

Alfanie-Desire

The challenge with finding Mother of the Bride shoes was in choosing shoes that have an extra emphasis on comfort and are age-appropriate (I’m sorry, you’ll find no hot-pink pumps with clear heels here), without sacrificing style. I also wanted to keep in mind the type of outfits I’ve seen Mothers wear at the weddings I have attended in order to provide the most well-rounded pick of shoes for these next posts. Apologies in advance if I offend any of you Mothers in my coming words.

Let’s start with 100% comfort in a flat thong. Since we’re talking about Spring/Summer weddings, I’m going to guess that ankle length dresses will be few and far between on anyone other than the Bride. And that’s a good thing, it gives us more variety. So here’s the Alfani ‘Desire’ thong. This sandal is wonderful because it will go well with ANY body type and most fabrics. It has enough detail by way of the stones inlaid in gold and the slightly glimmering sheen of the sandal fabric to dress-up the look so that it can compliment a more formal outfit. I envision this sandal looking great paired with a slightly below the knee, capped sleeve raw silk sheath dress in a pale violet red.

Bridesmaids Shoes Part IV: Biviel Bv1208 Flat

Biviel-BV1208

I’m short, but I love flats that keep me close to the ground. I also recognize that there are some taller sisters out there who may not want to add inches to their already 5’10” frame. This Biviel ‘Bv1208’ is for you who are trying your hardest not to make the bride look vertically challenged in pictures. This Biviel flat has great detail at the top with the disc-tie combo. It’s got a little bit of sheen to dress-up the shoe and will look ridiculously cute with any type of dress in any type of color (except maybe white – but that’s ok, you shouldn’t be wearing white anyway). Though I will say this shoe would be better suited for a less “black-tie” affair type of wedding. I’ve got a pair of Biviel heels and can wear them comfortably all day. Biviel makes their shoes so that the heel fabric comes up to the perfect high above the ankle so that you don’t have to worry about it hurting at the point where your ankle bends backward when walking. All you ladies who have endured that kind of torture on a long day without spare shoes know exactly what I’m talking about – no amount of band-aids can pad your foot enough to be comfortable when that happens. So be fabulous and comfortable with the BV1208!
